Friendly-deprived Malawi mocks Ghana's game with China
Posted On Tuesday, 31st July 2012
By Ameenu Shardow
Malawi’s FA President Walter Nyamilandu has described Ghana’s friendly with China as ‘merely an excursion’ even though they are yet to secure an opponent for the August 15 date.
The Black Stars will step up their preparations ahead of their 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against the Flames in September with a warm up game with the Asian giants in Beijing.
However Ghana’s opponent’s, Malawi say they are not perturbed by the seemingly serious posture of the Ghana FA towards the crucial tie and that they are at their own pace with preparations though confused by an earlier Caf directive which sought to cancel the August 15 friendly date.
“We have heard about that (Ghana’s friendly) and it comes as a great surprise and there appears to be conflicting message because Caf are saying August 15 is no longer on Fifa calendar,” Nyamilandu said.
“We are also pursuing a friendly match around the same time because we don’t want to be caught unawares.”
Ghana will host the first leg of the ultimate qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 9 before traveling to Lilongwe for the return encounter a week later.

I can understand them on this one
We have a match against Malawi in Accra - and we are travelling all the way to China for a mock up?
Surely we could have than better - but some will say a friendly is a friendly

I hate organizations that talk too much. They sound very stupid and amateurish. What concern is of their what Ghana FA chooses to do with their time? If we make a million dollars by going to China to help our financial situation and give the players an opportunity to bond together its a win win for Ghana

This shows how nervous they are. They are scared of playing the Black Stars.

they are just looking over their shoulders to see how we are preparing for them.
Aside of picking up a few useful dollars in China, we could have done with an African team in Accra ie Liberia, Burkina, Senegal etc which ever is available but ... it's ok

Don't forget that every time players get to spend time and BOND with each other, train and play matches its a good thing for their understanding of each other.

They're damn right, our friendly with China is a fockin joke, only for us to return with another loss and excuses, just like we did in Korea.
They know we're going to get our arsses whipped by China.

Why are we even discussing this.
Some of the new players who were invited will not even make it to the Malawi game.
The coach will bring back OTB, Essien etc for the Malawi game, so who we are playing is not even an issue.

But its a chance for these guys to show their merit tho. Malawi's FA boss is right. Its an excursion but so what. Brazil plays "exhibitions" for tons of money all the time. Besides a travel, which shouldnt be a factor this time. What else is the issue?
