Gatusso was talking about him last week. Looks like Sion is in the lead for his signature.

Yartey set to seal Sochaux move on friday

By MTNFootball.com Friday Jul 20, 09:42 +0200

Ghana winger Ishmael Yartey has arrived in Sochaux for medicals on Friday as he looks set to seal his switch to the French Ligue 1 side, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.

Sochaux reached agreement to sign the former Ghana Under-17 star for a reported fee of 3 million Euros after beating off competition from Swiss Super League sides FC Sion and FC Servette.

Yartey has already agreed personal terms with Sochaux and will officially sign a four year contract.

The 22-year-old rejected a five-year-contract extension proposal by the Portuguese giants Benfica.

Yartey moved to Benfica after the 2007 FIFA Under-World Cup finals in Korea but failed to offer him first team playing opportunities.

He was loaned to SC Beira-Mar and CD Fatima to aid his development.

Last season he played 31 games and scored 8 goals with Swiss Super League side FC Servette Geneva on loan.

Yartey has been likened to Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs because of his technique, speed, ball striking skills.

He was named in a preliminary Ghana squad for June’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia.

Hopefully this is true. Though Benfica was a bigger league...finally he gets the chance to play in a more competitive league.

What about Kumordzi is he staying the Ligue 1?
