What ls Faster Than Speed Of Light?

Postby Kwame Nyame 64 » Fri Sep 23, 2011 2:24 pm

: Amazement As Speed Of Light 'Is Broken'

....Scientists at the world's largest physics lab think they may have proved Albert Einstein's theory of relativity wrong - by breaking the speed of light.

Experts at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland believe they have clocked neutrinos travelling fast enough to shatter the central pillar of physics.

But they cannot quite believe it themselves, they say, because according to Einstein's famous 1905 equation, E=mc2, it is simply impossible.

"The feeling that most people have is this can't be right, this can't be real," said James Gillies, a spokesman for CERN.

Mr Gillies said the readings have so astounded researchers that they are asking others to independently verify the measurements before claiming an actual discovery.

"They are inviting the broader physics community to look at what they have done and really scrutinise it in great detail," he said.

Ideally they want someone elsewhere in the world to repeat the measurements, he said.

Scientists at the competing Fermilab in Chicago have promised to start such work immediately.

"It is a shock," said Fermilab head theoretician Stephen Parke, who was not part of the research in Geneva.

"It is going to cause us problems, no doubt about that - if it is true."

The Chicago team had similar faster-than-light results in 2007, but those came with a giant margin of error that undercut its scientific significance.

Others were sceptical about CERN's claim that the neutrinos, one of the strangest known particles in physics, were observed smashing past the cosmic speed barrier of 186,282 miles per second (299,792 km per second).

University of Maryland physics department chairman Drew Baden called it "a flying carpet", something that was too fantastic to be believable.

CERN says a neutrino beam fired from a particle accelerator near Geneva to a lab 454 miles (730 km) away in Italy travelled 60 nanoseconds faster than the speed of light.

Scientists calculated the margin of error at just 10 nanoseconds, making the difference statistically significant.

But given the enormous implications of the find, they still spent months checking and rechecking their results to make sure there were no flaws in the experiment.

"We have not found any instrumental effect that could explain the result of the measurement," said Antonio Ereditato, a physicist at the University of Bern, Switzerland, who was involved in the experiment, known as Opera.

The CERN researchers are now looking to the United States and Japan to confirm the results.

SO WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

One of the principle,or law of Divine Spirit or whatever name you give to the Life Force or Power that sustains all the universes is that the is ALWAYS one more step.

A running thread here on this joint has mentioned Einstein.l believe we (both sides of the argument tried to pigeonhole him.
The General pointed out Einstein was nonreligious and a freethinker. The man himself seem to suggest that but also says else where he is not an atheist.
l strongly suspect(and l must careful here because lm not a scientist)Einstein knew there is something beyond his theory of relativity.
lf this new finding is true,Einstein won't be surprised l guess.

Why bring this here on a religious forum?l don't visit any of the other forums on ghanaweb.l keep my crap strictly to osofo joint.

Not too long ago,the prevailing understanding is that if you fly faster than the speed of sound you would die.
The speed of sound is MACK 1. lt also commonly known as the sound barrier.
ln 1947 however Chuck Yeager in a little rocket called Bell X-1 proved everybody wrong. He broke through the sound barrier and lived.
After this Concorde even went further.lt crossed the pond between London and NY reaching MACK 2.
The SR-71 Blackbird spy plane could do MACK 3,avoiding some of the finest radars invented.
The Space Shuttle cruises at MACK 23.
When the sound theory was shattered,Scientists moved to Light. The speed of Light.
They said nothing can be faster than the speed of light. This is where the great mind Einstein came in with his theory of relativity to prove the point.lt is not possible for anything to travel faster than the speed of light.Period.End of story.
Then just last week.Scientists experimenting underground in Switzerland claimed to have proved Einstein wrong.
What they have done in the layman's terms is that...they have had made a particle arrive at its destination BEFORE it set off.
Please don't worry your brain on this one.Science is now venturing into some exciting realms.TIME TRAVEL.
They are asking other scientists to cross check.
They say if this is found to be true,it will be the biggest scientific news of all times.
Since Einstein's theory of relativity underpins all of of modern physics,to prove there is something beyond it will shake the very foundation of science.
Whether their experiment turns out to be true or false, the fact remains that, there is ALWAYS one more step.

These guys at CERN are playing, the really are venturing something they have no idea of, its implications etc. This particle collider thing. Those mofos better not annihilate this planet

Yes,it has happened before.l think something similar but with occult powers and the play of magic was partly reponsible for the destruction of Atlantis and before that Lemuria.
Remember Atlanteans were doing commercial trading with beings on distant planets beyond.
l think they are venturing into stuff that will eventually sit up at least when when the hear same like SOUL TRAVEL and DIRECT PROJECTION or Travelling back in time.

Science is a very risky thing. Science isn't free of human bias's. New things can come out to always contradict the old stuff.

Interesting articles, man.

   kinda like with great power comes great responsibility .....

we are advancing in our technologies day by day and using these technology and technological thinking to peek into the raw materials of the universe ....... if we dont elevate our consciousness and transform our fear based beliefs .... we will surely destroy the current vehicles(our bodies), mother earth, and life as we kno it(physical experience on earth )

Like i was saying all along on the football forum, there was an error in the calculations. Neutrinos ARE NOT faster than C
