I am using Zen Cart software to build an Online Tropical Market. I chose Zen Cart because, it is free, open source, user friendly and there is lot of documentation available.

Is there a better ecommerce software with more features than what Zen Cart provides?

Magento has quite a following. Haven't had the need for it myself but I know people who are v. happy with it

Zen cart is cool! check Ubercart also has some interesting features and it is also free.

Yes, I have also worked quite a lot on Magento in the past and have always been delighted with it. Wouldn't consider anything else.

However i think it all depends on which platform you are most comfortable with designing and managing your store, if you are agile enough, you can replicate almost any shop frontend, no matter the platform.
