Yes and No

Yes because you may want a hard copy on cd/dvd to pass around

No because you can choose to mount the cd-rom image using Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% or even Nero Image tool and it will still work as well as a cd-rom.

I personally prefer to mount it, i burn it only if it is necessary.

Kofi..I finished downloading the file but cannot open it
it says attempting to open an IBN file
the file is used by the operating system and by various programs.
Editing and modifying them could damage your system.
if you still want to open it click on Open with or cancel

I clicked on "Open with" and it says
windows cannot open this file
to open the file, windows needs to know the program created it

what shld I do?

You can do either of two things:

First is to burn it to cd using a good piece of burning software such as nero. In any case the procedure is the same in other software, select the option to burn an image, then select the .bin file and burn, if you cannot see the .bin file in the folder, you may have to change the drop-down file type to all file types. Just try to burn the image file to cd and it should work.

If you want a more elegant way which is to mount the cd image, then use either daemon tools or nero image tool or alcohol 120%. With that, all you need to do is to mount the ISO or BIN file onto the virtual drive and it will automatically start running as if you had popped the cd in.

I hope this helps, if you get stuck let me know and i'll see how best to help you.

Kofi thanks for the reply..really appreciated
but the problem is I aint a computer person :D
so talk to me just like a lay-man wai

Some of the things u dey asked me to do..I no fit no am
But this is the problem
Its normally when you download a file and you install it on your
pc, you are able to open the file and run it then install
but this file aint like that..Anytime I save it..it says I can't open it

Ohk..eno enda nkyen

Also you said something about me burning onto CD..yeah fine
but how do I burn on Cd if the file itself cannot be open from my
documents where I saved it?..[I dont know if you get what I mean]

You asked me to select bin file folder/all folder from the drop down menu but the fact is..there is no drop down menu anywhere..probably I can't see it but the thing is a file which I cannot open..[Or you mean when I save it on my computer, I should click the drop down menu of the menu box and save it on Bin file or sumthing ?..I don't really get that part]

Lastly you suggested another solution on how I can use Nero or Alcohol 20% but the truth is I aint got these softwares and even if I have, how do I use it to burn the image onto CD?..

Its quite complicated for me...please do well to speak to me as someone who doesn't know nuthing abt PC's but rather sees the thing that appears on the screen as everyone

It seems I'm asking a lot and making it difficult for you, but that is the truth!!

Explain to me like class 1 boy

Thanks man

Apus no worries... first of all, just save it in the form that it came i.e. Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise-WiNK.bin

do not do anything else to it, like opening it or renaming it.

Then click Here to download daemon tools

Install daemon tools, then go to http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/daemonhelp.php to read on how to mount and unmount a cd image.

************ Mounting The Image ***********
When you install daemon tools, it will install an icon usually red in colour in the bottom right corner of your screen where you have the time. Then right-click the new red icon, now Select Virtual CD/DVD-ROM. and select the relevant device letter [?:], Click Mount. Now browse and select the image you wish to mount. It will be lacated in the location in which you saved the downloaded file, Click OK or double-click on the file to mount it. At that point in time, the cd will automatically run.

*********** Unmounting the Image **********

1. Right-click on the DAEMON Tools trayicon at the bottom right of your screen (The red icon)
2. Select Virtual CD/DVD-ROM
3. Select the Device letter [?:]
4. Click Unmount and you're done.

Kofi I have finished downloading the Daemons and everything
The red icon is present and then I tried to do exactly what you asked me to do...I placed the cd in the drive and then right clicked on the icon
I then clicked on the mount Image it sends me straight to my documents BUT I couldn't find the File [Microsoft Office 2007..]in my dcuments but rather only my folders...notwitstanding, when I clicked on my computer and check my documents, I can see the file there.

So this is what I did..when I right clicked the red icon again and took me to my documents..didnt see the file but rather folders..so I typed in the name of the file and it showed up...BUT when I clicked ok, it says please wait and then it says the digital sumthing sumthing is not validated and have option ok..so I clicked ok and it closed the page...All along, the CD was in the drive..

I don't know..probably I aint doing sumthing right
Brother needs help
Thx anyway
