Building a Website which CMS to use? Joomla or Drupal

Postby Mantash » Wed May 04, 2011 5:58 pm

I have a little experience with html . I have not used either of these 2 CMS'es and am not quite sure which one will be more suitable for building a site with blog, ecommerce, forum, embedded video, social networking, but must also be secure and have good SEO.

I will most likely purchase/acquire a template and modify it to suit my functionality to cut down on time to market.
Any books I might need to read? Thanks

Feedback is most appreciated from those in the know

Use Joomla.

Drupal has a steep learning curve with its "node" structure. You will be up and running with Joomla in no time.

I must say though that Drupal is more robust and extensible for large deployments. If it is a simple website or corporate website without complicated bells and whistles then Joomla all the way.
