Study: Marijuana Use Doubles Risk of Testicular Cancer

Postby Mantash » Fri Sep 14, 2012 6:09 pm

Those who smoke "Wee" might want to follow this research

Below are clips from the article

PROBLEM: Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs), already the most common cancer in men aged 15 - 45, are being diagnosed at rising rates. Also noted to be on the rise in this demographic is marijuana use.

Since

1) scientists have reason to believe that men are most vulnerable to TGCT risk factors during puberty,

2) research has suggested that some of the stuff found in marijuana smoke may be one of those risk factors, and

3) marijuana use is especially high among younger males, there just might be a connection.

METHODOLOGY: A population of 163 men in Los Angeles County, California who had been diagnosed with TGCT between 1986 and 1991 participated in the study. Each subject was matched for age, race, ethnicity, and neighborhood of residence at time of diagnosis with up to four controls. Interviewers were sent to the participants' homes to ask them about basic demographic information, family and personal disease history, and personal use of tobacco, alcohol, and recreational drugs.

well the thing is "cancer" occurs in ur body all the time but its kept in check. When u introduce toxins into ur body or things that encourage mutation, then it messes with the "process" and becomes unregulated.

well said and speaking from a place of every bodily dis-ease is created first in the mind.......... cancer is usually caused by deep hurt, grief, something eating up a person emotionally at intangible aspects of being ......

there are many people out there who have been smoking a pack or more a day of cigarettes for over 50 years and are healthy in their physical body without any smoking related dis-eases and complications ......

beingness precedes doingness and not the common consensus of doingness preceding everything and so we are all running around doing and doing and doing and doing until we wear out from doing and doing without getting anywhere......

IMO of course.

IIRC my biology what he said is right. Cancerous cells do occur in everyone but the body's immune system kills them. When the immune system fails is when you develop cancer for real.

What about this?

Young cannabis smokers run risk of lower IQ, report claims

Young people who smoke cannabis for years run the risk of a significant and irreversible reduction in their IQ, research suggests.

The findings come from a study of around 1,000 people in New Zealand.

An international team found those who started using cannabis below the age of 18 - while their brains were still developing - suffered a drop in IQ.

I'll have to disagree with that.. u have very mentally strong people who succumb to illnesses all the time.

Ps. Smoking does not equal cancer. It just increases ur chances.

You forgot to add bottled up,, oh that must be the eating up a person part.. They are called psycho-physiological diseases. I'm glad science is going into this more. But anyway, some people may find this hard to believe.. Its cool though...
