They have pushed the sport training to the world class level and just have to keep finding the athletes.

The hardest part is always pushing the sport to the world class level once there you just have to keep producing the athletes.


The USA has taken it to the world class level but, will continue to struggle to find the athletes due to NUMEROUS sports in the country. A person with a lot of pace like that will be a running back in America football or a wide receiver thus, while focusing on that sport will eventually gravitate toward it...

The have finally caught up and surpassed the U.S. I can guarantee you that what is going to happen now is that the U.S. is going to begin recruiting, grooming them en masse early and of course giving them U.S. citizenship. Infact the U.S. already recruited a number of Kenyans including Lagat and others to run for the U.S. in the long distance events. They stole Sonya Richards originally from Jamaica. She just gave them 100 metre gold. Expect this sort of trend to continue.

You will see by the year 2020 the U.S. track and field contingent will be made up of mostly first generation immigrants. This will happen b'cos like any any other activity in the U.S where compensation is minimal immigrants are the automatic choice. As Yesu said Bolt would have easily been recruited by one of the NFL teams. He has the perfect physique for wide receiver; stands 6ft 5ins, weighs between 180 and 220, has the long arms and legs and has loads of speed to spare. He would be making more money in the NFL done in sprinting. Wonder why he never considered?
