Very true. Our investment in sports outside of soccer is abyssmal. I don't know how we expect to do well at the Olys and World Championships with no investment.

Maybe we are waiting for foreign born kid to nationalize them.

Many of those guys still live in the 1980s. They want GOVERNMENT to fund their PRIVATE sporting ASSOCIATIONS without being accountable to Ghana.

What we need is a comprehensive review of the sports laws and a clear cut understanding of the dynamics of modern sports management.

Until they get someone serious about the olympics we will never do anything...

The talent is there to compete favorably in several events but, all we care about is Football and Boxing(especially at the world class level)....

You can cross out boxing. Like the sport itself Ghana's boxing program is dead.

So ask the government why it funds football.

Team Ghana last boxer defeated with Gaisah failing to qualify

Ghana’s only surviving boxer in the Olympic games, Duke Micah lost terribly on Friday in the round of 16 of the men’s flyweight 52 kg division at the ongoing Olympic games at the ExCeL - South Arena.

The 20-year-old lost 5-2, 7-3, 7-3 on points to his more aggressive Irish Michael Conlan.

The Ghanaian boxer's 8-19 points defeat ends Ghana’s participation in boxing after Isaac Dogbe and Suleiman Tetteh were all beaten in their first bouts while Maxwell Amponsah was disallowed to fight.

Elsewhere long jumper Ignatius Gaisah failed to qualify from more than thirty jumpers with a jump of 7.79meters

Ghana is now left with just two athletes in the competition, Vida Anim and Alberta Ampomah who will be in competition on Monday and Sunday respectively.
After Heptathlon Queen Margaret Simpson pulled out of the Olympic games due to an an Acute Kidney Infection in the early hours of Friday.

Seriously, guys, it is tome for the many competent people in Ghana to come out of hiding and take over the comanding heights of our country. Too many dimwits are running affairs in our country.
